Double Digits
My middle son became a teenager today. He is thrilled beyond description. We are now all in double digits in my family (The youngest turned 10 in December). This morning I felt a bit weary. Raising children is not for the faint-hearted.
What truly amazes me these days is how quickly teenagers grow. My little boys are so big! I am fascinated by how they are becoming unique individuals. People who know our family marvel that the three boys came from the same stock!
My goal today is to celebrate that they are growing up. And to focus not on the regrets and "should haves" in my own head (Parenting isn't for perfectionists either--it can't be done!), but to focus on them and their successes.
I hope it's not a sin to be proud of your children. I will have trouble repenting of it!
